Engineering for Human Advancement Well being Knowledge for Success.
At Engineering HAWKS, we envision a world where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and succeed. We are dedicated to fostering a more just and equitable society by inspiring young minds—both girls and boys—to explore and pursue careers in engineering. While one of our key goals is to empower more girls to engage in STEM fields, we are equally committed to encouraging all students to discover the exciting possibilities within engineering.
Nikhil Shokeen is a rising junior at NHSS with a passion for computer engineering, enjoys playing guitar and tennis, is committed to environmental sustainability, and creates projects aimed for the world, especially in air quality.
At RAMP, you'll dive into various fields of engineering while gaining hands-on experience, such as creating an enclosure and hand-making a particulate matter sensor. We also emphasize inclusivity, ensuring a comfortable environment for everyone as we explore the importance of cultural and gender equality in teamwork within the engineering field.
This year's project focused on monitoring air quality. We split up our groups into 4 different sections. Together we worked to make a monitor and we contrasted the data findings from the sensor with data from EPA monitors we set up around the campus.
Feel free to ask Nikhil any questions about his experience and for mentorship.
